Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj today said that results of Lok Sabha elections were not upto her party’s expectations and the reasons for the defeat will be analysed in detail by its leaders later in the day.
“The results are not along expected lines and the reasons for the party’s defeat will be analysed in detail by the senior party leaders to arrive at any specific conclusion,” Swaraj told reporters at her residence here.
“The party believes in sharing collective responsibility of victory and defeat and in the present case also the same theory would be applied,” she said.
“Not only us, but even UPA and Congress never expected such a result in their favour,” she said.
When asked whether BJP’s prime ministerial candidate L K Advani will continue as the Leader of Opposition, she said that she would like him to play that role.
