The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi retained the power with a brute majority, winning 63 of the 70 Assembly seats. After a daylong see-saw battle, Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia won from Pataparganj seat. AAP leader Raghav Chadha also claimed victory from Rajinder Nagar. “People of Delhi have proven that Delhi’s son Arvind Kejriwal isn’t a terrorist but a true patriot,” said Raghav Chadha. We will work together for the development of Delhi, says Kejriwal as he concludes his speech with chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai”

Exit polls had predicted another term for Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party, the BJP, which powered its campaign on the anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act protests at Shaheen Bagh, is likely to win right seats.

As AAP inches towards a historic win in Delhi, Chief Arvind Kejriwal at the party office said, “Dilli walon ghazab kar diya aap logon ne! I love you”.
