Arvind Kejriwal was humble in defeat. His Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had a poor showing in Delhi, which it had won in December, and was completely routed out in Varanasi, where Kejriwal lost to Modi. The AAP, however, led in Punjab, where it gained four seats and Kejriwal was thankful about it.
“This is a good beginning for AAP. No one thought about Punjab seats. However, we could have done better in Delhi,” Kejriwal told mediapersons.
He, however, added that his struggle for a corruption-free India will continue. “This is just the beginning. This is a long fight. It is going to take long. These were our first elections and this is a good beginning. We respect the people’s verdict,” he said.
