Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha National President & MP Poonam Mahajan, welcomed the immediate release of BJYM Activist Priyanka Sharma who was arrested for allegedly sharing a meme on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Poonam Mahajan further said that Mamata Banerjee is running a ‘tanashahi’ in West Bengal, killing Democracy and democratic institutions. Poonam was addressing a Press Conference Today at the BJP Headquarters in New Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha had earlier filed a petition in the Hon’ble Supreme Court seeking relief for Priyanka Sharma. Hon’ble Supreme Court also had issued Notice to West Bengal Police questioning the way Priyanka was put into custody.

Poonam Mahajan alleged that Mamata Banerjee has mastered the art of denigrating the constitution and running the state according to her own whims. She has made constant efforts to curb the ‘freedom to the expression’ in various cases. Release of BJYM Activist Priyanka Sharma by Supreme Court is a Victory of Democracy. Calling Mamata Banerjee ‘Hitler Didi’ Poonam Mahajan said that whole Mamta Banerjee continues to stall the democratic process in West Bengal, she must not forget that people of Bengal will certainly give it back to the Anarchist Mamata Banerjee Government.
Poonam Mahajan said that over 30 BJP and BJYM Activists of have lost their lives to TMC violence since the Panchayat elections, the results of which left Mamata Banerjee quite rattled. She reiterated that West Bengal will vote for Development & Prosperity, they will Vote for Bharatiya Janata Party & Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi led government at the center.
